THis is kind of an add on from my previouse question (you may look at my questions so you know what I am talking about lol). Anyway, I fb my trainer telling her about my mares sore back and today she is going to be using some magnetic therapy of some sort. (I am also going to try massaging her as one person mentioned) She is really into that kind of alternative therapy(most of the people at the barn have a magnetic blanket for their horse). I think it is really cool and interesting myself.
So my question is, why is magnetic therapy so good for horses? I know it works, i'm just wondering why and how =]

Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy of the right frequency has been proven to be useful to stimulate circulation which enhances healing, and is also used to encourage regeneration of damaged nerves with some success.
Stationary magnets, on the other hand, have been proven over and over to have zero benefit, and are a total waste of money. Any claims you may read that they do any good for anything are completely false.
The ability to derive benefit from this therapy is directly related to the quality of the machine being used to deliver the pulsed electromagnetic energy at the right frequency, and the expertise of the person performing the procedure. There are useless versions out there so it is kind of a buyer beware situation. I would only allow a licensed veterinarian or physical therapist to perform this procedure on my animal.

Do you wear a Magnetic Therapy Bracelet? If so, does it eliminate your body pain?
I have seen these bracelets in department/drug stores & wondered if they work. If it works for you, how so? (ex: Arthritis, headaches, etc.)

There has been a lot of contradictions with the advertisement of this product.
Technically, they are not allowed to mention the word "pain" or "pain relief" and they have in fact been sued for using such terminology.
There is no physical evidence, or proof that this device indeed "relieves" pain.
Tests show the device isn't even ionized (electrically charged) whatsoever.
The Majority of people claim it serves to function as a placebo. That is, it only works because your brain thinks it works, thereby transforming belief into a physical reality.
Other wear it for aesthetics.
But the main point to get across is that the device itself does nothing to contribute to your health, negatively or positively.

Personally, I think your headache finally just went away. Some believe strongly in magnetic therapy, but I'm not among them.
