Question about plastic training pants for potty training?
I found some on ebay that are just the vinyl plastic waterproof pant and don't have a cotton lining . But they are saying that they are designed to be used with the thick cotton undwear only. I have bought my daughter sesame street underwear, but they aren't the thick kind, they're thin. Can I still use those vinyl pants with the thin underwear?
My only warning is that with the thin underwear, the plastic pants sometimes leak. The advantage of the thick cotton underwear is that they absorb the urine and then the plastic pants keep the childs bed or clothes from getting wet. We use these with my daughter at night because she can still feel if she is wet, but we don't have a mess in the bed. During the day it is all "Dora panties, Dora panties" and she actually does better when she doesn't have a something to keep her dry.

How do you waterproof a cotton twill overcoat so it may be used in the rain?
I have a cotton twill overcoat that I would like to waterproof and use as a raincoat. Is there a spray, or something nto use in the washer/dryer?
There are both methods to waterproof garments. If it is a garment that can be washed, you can find solutions made by many manufacturers that work in the washing machine by simply adding the solution, mostly to the rinse water. Most of these are sold in the camping and outdoors aisle in the discounters as well as at places like Big 5 Sporting Goods, REI and Sports Chalet.
The spray on type is sold in the discounters and 3M makes a good one. You can find them in the patio section as well as in the camping aisles.
In my experience, the type that you add in the washing machine lasts longer and doesn't require re-application (particularly in downpours that saturate the garment) as often as the spray on type. But either will work.
