Foam Bed Pad
Are you supposed to put a mattress pad over a foam pad?
I just bought a memory foam pad yesterday for my bed. My mattress is memory foam but it's a little too firm for my liking, so I figured this would make it softer. Last night I slept on the new foam with my original thick cotton mattress pad on top and I don't really think I got the full effects of the foam because of it. So just now I removed the cotton mattress pad and just put my bed sheet over the foam. The problem is you can see through the sheet and see the foam and the holes it has for the temperature. It just doesn't look right. Is it supposed to be like that or should I buy a very thin pad to put on top of the foam? I'm so confused! What is the correct way to put a foam mattress pad on? Right now I just have:
Mattress
Foam Pad
Bed Sheet Over Foam
Then my normal sheet, blanket and duvet cover.
yes i would try a very thin pad ontop and see how you like it.

they will know what 2 do

I have neck problems. Could my foam mattress pad be making it worse?
I got a foam mattress pad about a year or two ago. I've had back and hip problems before, and the occasional hurt neck. But ever since the foam pad my back and hip have been fine, but my neck has been in pain... I do go on my laptop a lot, and I have bad posture, but I'm just wondering if a foam mattress pad would be worse for my neck in comparison to a firm bed.
I have neck pain from not having enough neck support in the pillow..make sure the gap b/c your head and back is filled up w/ pillow basically..and bending and circulating your neck ALL the way back so it stretches out helps a lot. You really need to practice better posture too, pretend a string is at the top of your head, works for me..pulling you upwards. You also NeeD a firm mattress to help the back and try putting a wadded blanket, pillow, somthing like that, between your knees, if ur a side sleeper. sounds odd but works. It aligns the spine.

Do as much research as you can online as you can instead of driving from store to store. I personally had a very bad experience with a foam mattress. I bought a firm memory foam mattress and my back hurt even worse than my older bed! Also, I found the memory foam mattress to be much to hot. The memory foam seems to retain a lot of body heat. Make a long story short, I ended up with buying a Sleep Number bed instead. I've had my Sleep number bed over two years and I'm happy with it. Most importantly just try numerous types of beds…don't limit yourself just to foam. not any one type of bed will make everyone happy. I recommend checking out Ikea's website. Thanks. I've used a pillow between my knees for probably 20 years now. Can't sleep at all without it. I've wondered about the memory foam and how well it holds up. I have 3 or 4 inches of it on my bed right now, but obviously it's not doing the trick. ]]>
