Memory foam mattress topper?
My husband & I have been considering buying a memory foam mattress topper. I have been doing tons of research and am still confused. I'd love some feedback from people who own one. 1) what kind do you have (name brand or generic)? 2) How thick of one do you have? 3) What about the smell, have you had problems with it? 4) Did you have problems with the sizing and having it fit your bed? 5) My husband gets hot when he sleeps, have you had problems with it holding in the heat? And, most importantly, 6) do you like it and would you recommend it to a friend?

The toppers don't work as well as the mattress. Spend the money on a Tempurpedic. It's well worth it.
3. The new smell fades in a couple of weeks, like any mattress.
4. Yes, I've had plenty of problems with sizing... and the sheets don't hold well on a topper.
5. Tempurpedics don't hold in heat like toppers do.
6. I would recommend a Tempurpedic to anyone. Best purchase I ever made. You fall asleep as soon as your head hits that pillow. It's the best night's sleep you'll ever have!

Do you have any recommendations for a mattress topper for a double bed?
I wonder...
In your experience, is this a case where spending more money gets you a better product?
Can you recommend a certain material (feather bed, memory foam, etc and why)
Specific details, brands, or retailers to keep in mind?
My reason for considering this: I would like to boost the comfort of my mattress, hoping it helps with back pain and gives me a better quality of sleep, as well as to give some height to the whole setup so my sheets fit better/tighter (they slide off the corners now and sag).

I would recommend a memory foam topper. When you lie down on the memory foam, the foam conforms and redistributes the weight of the body, allowing you to sleep better and makes you feel cooler. Comparing to a standard mattress with box springs, the memory foam mattress is more comfortable. memoryfoammattress101.com has a review on different brands of memory foam toppers.
