How to claim warranty for Dunlopillo Duchess mattress with sagging/indentation?
We purchased the Queen Duchess less than two years ago with latex mattress top. It started to sink-in and we have backaches every morning. When we asked Dunlopillo, they replied that 'indentation' of less than 35mm is normal. They are charging us $140 to change the top panel with sweat marks (this is a normal wear and tear that is not covered under warranty) and delivery charges. They will also check the spring and replace them if there is faulty free of charge.
I am not familiar with this mattress. Someone at http://www.whatsthebest-mattress.com/. may have experienced similar situation. Hope this helps.

Yes, you really need protection against micro organisms. If you do not have a habit of cleaning your mattress, it can get moldy and itchy as time passes by. There is a good anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and mold-resistant alternative mattress though and that is the latex mattress(i am sure you have heard of it). Because of its materials, micro organisms are less likely to take up residence in it. It is also a lot more skin-friendly because of its hypoallergenic materials.
SursumCorda – I've considered mattresses on the floor over the years, and so far, have voted against it. You've hit the main reasons: cold and underbed storage. I've added two more reasons: critters (not so bad here as in Florida, but the only bedmates I like are my family members) and breathability (some mattresses last longer with proper airing above the ground). That said, I know lots of parents of young children that have put either family beds or childrens' beds on the ground, with much success.
Tricia – We'll probably end up purchasing one mattress at a time, as you suggest. It makes the most sense. But when we saw the pure delight and anticipation in the girls' eyes when they walked into our cabin at Cedar and thought that the two matching twin beds were for them (they were actually for Jason & I), we had to re-consider purchasing a matched set. We'll probably just purchase a wooden portable crib for our littlest latex mattress, and a twin bed/frame for Maya.
Both Tricia and Kate point out that a mattress is a worthwhile investment, and I heartily agree. I would love natural latex for the whole family, if we could afford it–it lasts practically forever, repels dust mites, and is supportive and comfortable. (The cheapest price I found for a twin 100% natural latex is $749.) The cotton futon I alluded to in my post (for $260) is projected by the company to last 3-5 years with heavy use and little care, and 10-15 with proper care (flipping, turning, airing in sunshine 2x/year, cotton mattress pads, etc). So again I wonder: is it worth it to invest in something that may not last them until college? I don't know. A few hundred dollars more would at least get us a cotton futon wrapped in wool, which would repel dust mites and other critters for longer than cotton alone.
