Recommendations for egg crate or other foam mattress pad?
I'm looking to buy some sort of mattress topper for a full sized futon. Does anyone have experience with and/or know of where I can pick up a good foam mattress pad? I've heard egg crates are good. And hear some people have had bad experiences with memory foam (ie it indents and doesn't go back into its form etc). Thank you!
I would recomment memory foam. Very comfortable! With egg crates they are not smooth so it can be uncomfortable. The cheapest place that I would recommend for them would be overstock.com. I have ordered from them before and I have nothing but good experiences. Also, they are the cheapest place to get a QUALITY mattress pad.

if i used a memory foam mattress on a futon would it bend and return to its regular shape after each use?
Great question.
Memory foam is called that because it has the ability to go back to its original shape. It is often used for adjustable beds. (Hospital Beds, Craftmatic type Beds). However to use it as a sofa and then a bed I do not think would be a great idea nor do I think a mattress company would cover your warranty for such a use.

We've been converts to sleeping on memory-foam ever since we made the switch to Tempur-Pedic a few years ago.
Tempur-Pedic is so comfortable that now we're thinking about replacing our conventional RV trailer mattress with memory-foam. All that's holding us back is uncertainty over how well memory-foam holds up under temperature extremes inside the trailer when we're not there — freezing cold during the winter off-season, blazing summertime heat during intervals when the RV trailer is temporarily unpopulated & the air conditioner is off.
Any knowledgeable folks who can advise about this ?
