Memory Foam Cover Can you insert a new Graco replacement memory foam onto a 2003 Snugride car seat that does not have one?
I want to make our older Snugride car seat more comfortable for our 1-month newborn. After seeing these for sale on ebay I'm wondering if you can just insert them into any Snugride car seat.
Although ours is equipped with the standard head foam, I don't think it ever came with the full sized one that covers the whole seat.
Have you had this seat inspected? After 4 years, it is possible that your car seat no longer meets current safety standards. The plastics also break down over time...most seats have an "expiration date" on them. Take the seat to the fire department and have it inspected. Also check the manual for other information. If it still meets with inspectors approval, just call the company and ask them which models of inserts will fit it.

Even when i bought a memory foam padded seat cover, my butt is still killing me after just 3 hours of riding.
A properly fitted saddle, bike shorts and proper riding position. Wide soft seats don't always help and the seat covers are usually nylon which generates heat. Padded bike shorts have pads that reduce friction and wick moisture away, plus reducing the pressure in the crotch. Bike fit and riding position are as important as a saddle. Being able to shift your weight to the handlebars and proper leg extension will help and allow you to adjust pressure as you ride. Three hours is a long time in the saddle if you are not used to it, and not easy for anyone with a bad saddle. Take your bike to the local shop and see what they recommend - they probably have a few test saddles you can try. They can look at you on your bike and tell more than I can from your question.
