By AWT intepretation, the modulation of one photon establishes a spatial distribution of vacuum foam density (a sort of optical grid), which affects the another photons accordingly in analogy to Aharamov-Bohm effect. Such explanation still doesn't require the exchange of energy by superluminal speed, I hope.
The spatial change of vacuum density is nothing unusual in AWT. For example the action of magnetic field can be expressed in terms of space-time density gradient as well. Such gradient cannot be observed by using of light, because it deforms the time and space dimensions accordingly – but it still manifests itself by force gradient. We should realize, we cannot observe the changes in environment density by using of waves, if we are observing the wave spreading just by using of the same waves. This trivial insight forms the conceptual base of relativity understandig, by the way.
I'm thinking the down mattress cover is what's making it so hot. Take that off, put on a cotton one & see how that does for you. I bet you are much more comfortable during the night & not getting so hot. Between the foam & the down, it's probably holding in heat. A cotton one would let the foam "breathe" a little more. Not a crappy question.

I can't help you with any mattress but I can help you with the pain.
For your neck, put both hands behind your neck, fingers touching, and pull in on the muscles there. Now relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don't tense up any part of your body. After 30 seconds, slowly lower your head until your neck is extended all the way. Release the pressure and hold your head there for one minute.
For your back, while sitting lean forward and rest your right elbow on your right leg and take your left hand up and over your right shoulder and find the muscle next to your spine with your fingers. Press in on it and hold. Now relax. After 30 seconds, in a slow, controlled drop, let yourself down into your lap, extending your body to the left just as you get there. After you are all the way down, release the pressure and rest your body there for one minute. reverse things and do the other side. If any questions contact me.
I had a similar problem and this is how I solved it:
I put an ad on Craigslist looking to trade my soft mattress for a firmer one. Mine was only about a year old and in excellent condition. I got a reply from a pregnant woman who couldn't sleep on her new, firm mattress and we traded straight across! We both slept happily ever after!
If you are reluctant to trade used mattress with a stranger, you can try inserting a piece of plywood between your mattress and boxpring. This will give more support.
