Memory Foam Density
Is density or depth more important when buying memory foam?
I'm looking to buy a memory foam mattress topper for a college dorm bed and am looking to get the most bang for my buck. Is it more important to have a denser topper with less depth, or a less dense topper that is deeper?
Toppers are designed specifically to give you bang for the buck. Toppers will only help a mattress that is in good shape. They will not help a worn out mattress.
When comparing them to a complete memory foam bed they are a fraction of the cost.
They are all important. If you didn't have one, the other would let you down. Example we don't put light duty passenger car tires on an 18-wheeler Semi Truck to save money. You could, if you could get them to fit. However they would fail almost instantly.
Toppers need to be a minimum of 2 inches thick or you are wasting your money.
Density correlates to how much foam you are buying per cubic foot. 5lb vs. 4lb. If both are $100.00 dollars you’re getting more foam for your money buying the 5lb topper.
Lastly you overlooked ILD or IFD This is very important also. It is a measure of the force it takes to compress the foam to 25 percent of its original thickness.

HELP.......I can't sleep, I need a memory foam.?
....actually I can't decide what inch of memory foam to get, I know I want the 5 pound density, but any suggestions on how many inches thick I should get.....and believe me, if I don't sleep, I am one crabby depressed b#$@%!!!!
How many inches think your memory foam should be is supposedly related to your weight. Whatever website or catalog you're planning on ordering from will probably have a list, or if you're planning on going to a store the sales person can probably direct you to the correct thickness for your weight.

Ask if you can get a free trial period; I had one for two weeks and got rid of it, because it always felt like when I tried turning over it was hanging onto me and would not let go. I know of other people who love them.
Really good idea you have there but limited, fantastic for preying where the user would be staying still but most activities such as car repair, playing with pets etc would require moving around a little, good luck though
I don't understand your attachment to an inanimate object but – its called a memory foam pillow because it will always retain its original shape after you sleep on it.
