My friend and I are doing research for a class project about how memory foam pillows are manufactored, what materials are used and how they are disposed of? Thanks!!
"Memory" foam is a marketing term for viscoelastic open cell polyurethane foam.
You can find an explanation of these terms on my website here:

If you're interested in how polyurethane foam in general is manufactured and it's ingredients, check here:

Memory Foam Mattress Bed Ratings & Reviews : Advantages, Disadvantages : Compare vs Innerspring/coil, Air and Latex : Comfort and Sagging
3 inch or 4inch memory foam?
Ive been doing research on memory foam toppers and was just wondering which would be better for someone weighing around 200lbs... some places say that 3 inch is better than 4 inch because you sink in the 4inch while others say 4inches would be better....assuming that both are the same density(lets say 4lbs) which would be better for comfort and pain relief?
Another factor you need to consider is the ILD or IFD or the memory foam. http://www.stlbeds.com/articles/2009/04/13/what-is-ifd-or-initial-force-deflection/
Mattress / Topper Feel is subjective to the sleep. There is not mattress rule that says one foam is better for a 200lb person while some other foam is better for someone that only ways 150lb.
Memory foam itself is very good material something that is even better you may want to consider is all natural latex. Which Is Better All Natural Latex or Memory Foam? http://www.stlbeds.com/articles/2008/12/30/which-is-better-all-natural-latex-or-memory-foam/

Your new memory foam is just the beginning….Before long, you'll have a spare rolled up in the trunk of your car (you'll have to buy a new car for it to fit), have one stashed at Mom and Dad's house for the bed there, buy one for the bed you sleep in at my house, and have an extra stored in the closet at my house, just in case you ever need to sleep on the couch there. I can already tell, you're doomed to be a memory-foam-junkie! It's in your genes!
What are you talking about Escorpio40. He doesn't work for the company, so how is he going to give you MORE info. He's speaking from HIS experience of the mattress!!! Look at their website, it gives you ALL the INFO you need. I think its a great review and has prompted me to make my own purchase of one. Great job kwaichi.
Teflon. Telescopes. GPS. Cell Phones. More efficient solar power. Every other use of satellites – like much of the Internet you’re using right now. Water purification. LEDs – (developed for Space Shuttle experiments). Algae based baby food. Portable power tools. Memory foam mattresses. Hydroponics. Hurricane detection. That’s on *1%* of the federal budget. But by far, the most important thing is the potential, to leave our celestial cradle.
Life is like a box of matresses… He reminds me of Forest Gump. But great info thanx.
