Spring Boxspring What function does a box spring serve?
I am thinking of building a bed frame that would essentially put the mattress on a platform with a sheet of plywood underneath. The boxspring is going to make the bed too high to get into.
Should I build shorter to keep the boxspring in use for the warranty, or does it even matter? It will still be a sturdy, level area for the mattress to sit on.

Cut and Bend Box Spring
ok, so my teenage son had a wet boxspring, just on the sides that had gotten slimmy, and a bit moldy, i pulled
slimmy cloth off and dried out the wood. should i just through it away or will it be ok, he has slept on the bed for 2 days now, not directly near the side as its a king bed...help...what should i do with it?? the box spring that is, keep it there for him to use, or take it and throw it.??
get rid of it!! Its a breeding ground for bacteria/bugs/and who knows what else... You have no idea exactly what was on that, therefore you dont know if the wood could be infested with something that could cause harm to your son. Toss it and get something else!
